Weight this morning was 233.8 lb - up a little from last week but not by much. Thank you to those of you who have posted comments recently!
I was wondering how you all made you choice to lose weight. For me it was becasue I can't keep up with my kids, I don't want to look this way at my Class reunion (haha), and I'd like to do a vow renewal cerimony in a dress that I ACTUALLY like, that plus it is always good to be healthy. But my main two where my health and to play with my kids.
I don't have any medical problems yet due to my extra weight - but I am at a higher risk for certain things. Did you know that having a BMI over 30 puts you at a much higher risk for medical problems? Well mine is over that and I already have the family history of heart disease - on both sides. So I thought "hmmm stay the way I am and have a heart problem by 30 or lose weight and maybe have a problem by the time I am 60?" can ya figure out what I picked?
What about those of you out there reading this - What was/is your reason for deciding to lose weight and doing something to lose it? I'd love to read your comments!

My blood sugar reading was so high the meter wouldn't register, I had horrible sleep apnea, and I couldn't fit in a chair with arms. Now, down 53 pounds and counting, I feel soooo much better. I have at least another 50 to go, but the difference is amazing already. So yes, this time (since I have lost this same weight at least 10 times in my life...) it was all about my health. Not that I don't want to look great for my daughter's wedding this October...but it was really the prospect of dying, or worse yet, having a stroke or a heart attack and being a burden to my family, that motivated me. I want to live to see grandchildren!!!
my reason are the same as yours. one is to be healty and the other is to keep up with my 2 1/2 year old son. I want to be around for him for a long long long time. i'm 33 now and i want to watch him grow up , graduate and get married and have kids. plus i need the energy to run around after him all the time. Congrats on your accomplishments and keep up the GREAT work. you can do.....
I personally just dislike how I feel. I need to lose about 30 lbs. I am really concerned now that I am in my mid 30's that my waistline is at or above 34 inches. I carry my weight not as a pear shape but as an apple and I know the tremedous health risks that poses.
I am a chef and really love food. I don't really overeat or eat processed foods but calories are calories. I could be more active which is what I am making a concious effort to do and the activity especially the strength training really is making a difference in not only how I look but how i feel! I find a lot of inspiration from others and top notch fitness publications like Oxygen and women's fitness.
I don't have childbirth to blame how I am! Or rather, that caused the weight. I hate to use the word blame there. I am sure its hugely challenging to try to get your figure back while caring for demanding young ones.
I play a game with myself to see how creative I can be with my calories each day. how I can get a really low cal yet healthy meal in at each sitting/snack time.
